"Ensuring long-term care facilities deliver superior resident care"
EMAR services and ADLs
In 2006, CareRight™ Technologies, LLC was started as a partnership between Happy Jack Software, Inc. (“HJS”), a software company specializing in the development of web-based software and rich internet applications, and Emissary Professional Group, LLC, (“EPG”) which operates Emissary Pharmacy, a closed door pharmacy specializing in the delivery of pharmaceuticals to 25 Long Term Care and HMO customers.

Before the formation of CareRight™ Technologies, EPG spent several months researching all available eMAR products on the market for their 25 LTC and sub acute facilities. They were unhappy with the quality, support abilities, and pricing of the available products. They then sought out the software development expertise of HJS and together they developed MedRight™, an eMAR, and CareRight™, a documentation and observation application.

During the initial development of MedRight™, CareRight™ Technologies, LLC spent time meeting with nursing groups all over the Wyoming, Colorado, and Montana area to determine what users of the application(s) really needed and wanted. These meetings revealed a set of core functional features that were consistently requested across the board. These core elements were:

Ease of Use:
The eMAR had to be easy to learn and use. A pull nurse needed to be able to come to a facility and be able to use the eMAR within 10 minutes.
Transparent Technology:
CareRight™ Technologies, LLC, repeatedly heard “nurses are not computer people – we just want to do our job. We don’t want to have to struggle with the computer. Make it so that the computer usage is not the emphasis/focus of the eMAR.”
Correctness:
The eMAR must work correctly ALL of the time to ensure patient safety. The computer cannot be “down” or “broken” or “unavailable” at any time.
Configurable:
No facility is the same. The eMAR needed to be configurable for each facility. What works in one facility may not work in another. It needed to be flexible enough to handle different workflows and procedures.
Interoperability & Standard Compliance:
The overall eMAR system must have the ability to easily integrate with billing systems, registration systems, and other health care software using standard protocols.
Supportable:
Nursing is an around the clock effort – not just a 9-5 job. There must be 24x7 support available immediately if there is an issue.

With all this in mind, CareRight™ Technologies, LLC, went to work building MedRight™. After a year and a half in development, MedRight™ was rolled out to eight beta clients and stayed in beta for one year. During the beta period, CareRight™ Technologies and the beta clients worked through any problems or issues the software displayed when being used in a live environment. Also during this time, CareRight™ Technologies, LLC put into place solid support and training programs. We designed the implementation plans, the security requirements, and standardized the hardware necessary to provide all of these items at a reasonable cost.

The mission of CareRight™ Technologies, LLC is to build software products that help deliver superior resident care. Our vision as a business is to create partnerships and not just sell software. We genuinely believe that our products set the standard and we feel we have a responsibility to ensure that the software works at all times.
