We've tried to answer all general, pre-sales questions that most people ask. If you have technical questions, these answers can be found in the
technical FAQ . There is useful information in our
forum that might answer your questions too.
The overriding benefit of implementing MedRight™ is its ability to ensure patient safety and reduce medication administration error.
Designed with everyone in mind, MedRight™ encourages streamlining the workflow and the business processes of a long term care
facility. It truly is a wise investment!
Basically there are 1 time equipment costs and a per licensed bed fee with the purchase of the MedRight™ system.
To get a rough estimate of how much the system will cost, fill in the cost estimator calculator below. Also, note
we have several financing options so feel free to ask about these when you are ready discuss.
Below is a picture of a cart and all the equipment needed for the cart. There is some flexibility in the hardware shown here but basically you will need the appliance machine (laptop) to mount on the cart, a scanner, a fingerprint reader, and a cart arm. The networking equipment required is a secure router, wireless access points, and broadband internet. We are experts at the network and the security. We can set this up in your facility or work with your IT staff to help get it set up.
Yes. MedRight™ uses is an appliance computer attached to the medication cart. It is a separate and discrete laptop specifically designed to provide the MedRight™ software and it resides on a dedicated network, the MedRight™ B network. We designed it this way for several reasons but the main reason is security. We do not want the sensitive and important information (resident's drug and personal information) on machines that other applications or operating systems can access, accidentally or purposely. We also want to avoid the ubiquitous virus and worm invasions that are so prevalent on certain operating systems.
Your data is stored on one of our server farms located around the country. These servers are housed in secure data centers that offer
world class speed, reliability, and security. Your data is definitely backed up. At any given time, there are multiple copies of your data. The server farms provide real-time data duplication. Furthermore, we backup data every 30 minutes.
Absolutely. We comply with all the requirements set forth in the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act of 1998.
Simply remove it from your facility. Our suggestion, due to the commitment, in both resources and time, is to make certain MedRight™ is right for your facility before purchasing it. We offer demos and encourage you to contact a few of our customers to discuss installation procedures and success. While we'd love to say every facility is the same, that is simply not the case. There's nothing cookie cutter about any facility. Knowing this, we genuinely try to help you make a well informed decision.
We think so. We are aware that nurses like their residents more than computers. We spent many hours working with nurses and groups of nurses who taught us what they wanted in such a pharmacy software package. Using touch screen technology, there's little typing involved and a standard graphical user interface that is the same throughout all components of the system.
No. Due to ISP service interruptions that nobody can control, the rural location of many long term care facilities, and the performance we needed for MedRight™, we designed MedRight™ such that it does not require the internet. It can go several hours, even days, without internet connectivity. We believe this true offline/online architecture is more robust and provides better performance all around.
Training is important for the success of a MedRight™ integration within any facility. Knowing this, we have 'Train the Trainer' sessions, one-on-one training, onsite training, and extensive online help. Workflow analysis and redesign are one of our major contributions when we look at your implementation. We understand what management needs and wants, and we understand the workflow at the cart and how to make it easiest for the nurses. We are currently designing some video training and this will be available in the second quarter of 2011.
Support is one of the distinguishing characteristics of our company. We take it seriously, and not just for a sale. We have a toll-free line, a support pager carried 24x7 that is supported every day by people who speak and understand English well. We have technical staff available within 10 minutes if first line support has issues that it cannot solve. Our appliance machine and network architecture allows for remote support-- we can do any technical support right from our office just as if we were there onsite. You can view our active online support forums at
http://forum.carerighttech.com.
People who have it and use it love it; It does what it claims it does; It's easy to use and learn; it's modern architecture and lack of dependence of a server in the facility is great. Our training and support is simply outstanding. And of course, cost is reasonable and in line with any EMAR software for pharmacy facilities on the market, if not a bit better.
We encourage every facility to have a backup client machine onsite. It's actually part of the up front cost. Simply take your backup appliance, plug it in, call customer support and you will have your data back on your new appliance machine within 15 minutes!
No. All software updates and major upgrades are absolutely free. There are no update disks or update hassles. They just happen. We update about 4-5 times a year. You can keep track of releases, announcements, and updates at:
http://www.carerighttech.com/support/releaseNotes.
We support facilities that have 40-50 beds. It does not matter how small or big your facility is, MedRight™ is beneficial at any level. And our support is the same for large or small facilities.
There are few updates to equipment on a regular basis. We'd suggest looking at equipment every 5-10 years. The cost of equipment is stable and minimal after the initial purchase.
We always listen to what the customer wants and needs. That's always been the focus of MedRight™. We make our applications better by doing this. We have a list of features that people would like. We take them seriously and tend to incorporate the most requested features faster.
We are based out of Wyoming. We started out 12 years ago as a pharmacy company. But we now are a combination of a pharmacy and a software company. In 2006, we began by wanting to purchase an eMAR system for our pharmacy customers and give it to them, but quickly found that what was available on the market was very old technology. After 6 months of research into all eMARs on the market, we made the decision to build a state-of-the-art eMAR-- thus MedRight™. Because our history is taking care of our pharmacy clients, our culture is driven by great customer support!
Because we know that there are no cookie-cutter facilities, MedRight™ is extremely configurable. Configuring your own ER box, your own privacy log out times, your own Medication Pass times is nicely done with MedRight™. There are literally dozens of things you can custom configure within MedRight™.
Call our 800 number (866-630-6727) or go to our website and fill in the 'Contact Us' form and we will contact you.
We'd love to say minutes, but that's simply not true. Our experience is that it takes from 2 days to 30 days, depending how much time a facility has to implement MedRight™ and how quickly they feel comfortable using it. Because business must go on as usual, we encourage installing MedRight™ and then running it along with your regular manual medication pass process for several days.
Then pick a date where everybody is comfortable and remove the manual medication pass process. Some facilities opt to pick 10 clients a day to go "live" with. Others pick all residents on the cart. In the end, it's facility dependent. We support your needs whether it takes 2 days or 30.
We have interfaces to multiple pharmacy software. Since it's an ever changing list, just ask us about yours.
Yes, we are happy to provide you with brochures, demo CD's and web links to marketing materials. We can
even help with an online demonstration of MedRight™. Simply fill out the 'Contact Us' form with a list of requested materials.
